Terms of Use

1. What US TaxGPT is — and is not
US TaxGPT is an AI-assisted tax preparation and review software tool. It is not a tax professional firm, law firm, or accounting firm, and nothing on the platform constitutes tax, legal, or accounting advice. The platform does not replace the advice of a licensed CPA or Enrolled Agent.
The platform does not submit returns to the IRS or any state tax authority on your behalf. You review, export, and file all returns yourself or through your own tax professional.
2. AI-generated content
Extraction results, classifications, calculations, risk flags, and answers produced by AI models may contain errors. You are responsible for reviewing and confirming every item before relying on it. Items marked as pending review must be confirmed by you — and, for high-risk matters, by a licensed US tax professional — before use in any filing.
3. Limitations of AI advice for US tax scenarios
AI output on this platform is not a "covered opinion" or formal tax advice within the meaning of IRS Circular 230, and it cannot be relied upon to avoid IRS or state penalties. Positioning a return to a penalty-protection standard — such as substantial authority or more-likely-than-not — requires the written judgment of a licensed CPA, Enrolled Agent, or tax attorney.
AI answers may not reflect the most recently issued IRS guidance, revenue rulings, state-specific rules, or treaty updates. Always verify conclusions against IRS.gov, current-year form instructions, and your state tax authority before filing. High-risk matters — such as M&A modeling, FIRPTA, large cross-border transfers, and treaty positions — remain locked in the product until reviewed by a licensed professional.
State tax estimates, due-date calculations, and completeness scores produced by the platform are approximations for organizing your work. They are not determinations of your tax liability, statutory deadlines, or filing readiness. Data handling that applies to these AI features is described in our Privacy Policy.
4. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the documents and information you upload, for safeguarding your account credentials and lookup codes, and for complying with all applicable tax laws. Filing deadlines shown in the product are system estimates or user-entered dates — always verify statutory deadlines, holiday extensions, and local notices yourself.
5. Acceptable use
You may not upload documents you have no right to possess, attempt to access other users' data, reverse-engineer the service, or use the platform to prepare fraudulent returns. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.
6. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, US TaxGPT is not liable for any tax liability, penalty, interest, or other damages arising from your use of the platform or reliance on its outputs. Final responsibility for any filed return rests with you and your tax professional.
7. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
8. Version history
We record every revision below so you can track how these terms evolve. The version in effect is the one shown at the top of this page.
