Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 5, 2026 · Version 1.1

1. What we collect

Account information (name, email), taxpayer profile data you enter (entity type, residency status, last 4 digits of tax IDs — never full SSN/ITIN/EIN), tax documents you choose to upload, and AI extraction results you choose to save. Uploaded files are stored only when you explicitly save them to a taxpayer profile.

2. How we use it

Your data is used solely to provide the service: extracting information from your documents, maintaining your evidence ledger, generating workpapers and exports, and — where you request it — enabling review by professionals you invite. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

3. AI processing

Document extraction and Q&A are processed through AI models. Documents sent for extraction are processed transiently and are not retained unless you save them. Conversation history in the tax Q&A tool stays in your browser unless you submit a follow-up request. For the limitations of AI advice in US tax scenarios, see section 3 of our Terms of Use.

4. Data retention periods

Files and extraction results you do not save to a taxpayer profile are processed transiently and discarded when the request completes — they are not stored. Tax Q&A conversation history stays in your browser only and is never copied to our servers.

Saved documents, AI extraction results, and evidence items are retained for as long as your account is active. When you delete an item, it is removed from your workspace immediately and purged from encrypted backups within 30 days.

Contact details you submit through follow-up or demo requests are retained for up to 12 months so that advisors can serve your request, then deleted. Aggregated, non-identifying service-quality analytics may be retained for up to 24 months.

When you request account deletion, all personal data associated with your account is deleted within 30 days of the confirmed request, except where a longer period is required by law or an active legal hold.

5. Storage and access

Your documents and records are stored in access-controlled systems, scoped to your account. Files are served through short-lived signed URLs. Collaborators you invite can access only the workspaces you grant them. System administrators may access data only as needed to operate and secure the service, and administrative authority is managed through a separate, audited role system.

6. Your rights

You can access, correct, export (as CSV or a ZIP bundle), or delete your evidence items, documents, and taxpayer profiles at any time from your account. You may also request full account deletion by contacting us.

If you are a resident of a US state with a comprehensive consumer privacy law (for example, California under the CCPA/CPRA), you additionally have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to correct and delete it, and the right to data portability. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

Because tax documents may contain sensitive personal information, we use them only to provide the services you request. To exercise any right, use the contact page; we will verify your identity before acting on the request.

7. Contact

For privacy questions or requests, use the contact page. We aim to respond within a reasonable timeframe.
